He addressed me not as "Sir", which was the normal practice, but remained Swamy, his short name. This personal touch made a significant difference in how his team perceived him and their relationship with him as a leader. Sarat valued intelligence and respected it in his colleagues, drawing the best out of everyone while granting them the freedom to work as long as they remained ethical and delivered results on time. A decade of working under Sarat's leadership inspired trust and confidence, making him the best boss I ever had. However, his untimely retirement as Deputy Chief of the QA group in 2002 marked the end of an era. Sadly, he passed away a few years later, leaving a profound impact on us all.
